OJLL announces 2022 schedule, Rocky Mountain sked also set

The Ontario Junior Lacrosse League today announced their full 2022 regular season schedule.
Their season will start in one of the league’s most iconic barns as well as one of their newest & most modern.
On May 11th, the Orangeville Northmen will host the Six Nations Arrows at Tony Rose Arena (8pm ET), while defending Iroquois Trophy winners the St. Catharines Athletics will host the Peterborough Lakers at the city’s new Canada Games Arena in the soon-to-open Canada Games Park near Brock University.
The $107 million, 18,580-square-metre facility has two two rinks, the larger of the pair provides seating for 1,200 spectators.
As stated in today’s OJLL announcement, 1,008 days will have gone by since the new-look Northmen will have hosted a game at Tony Rose. With no Minto Cup played over the past two summers due to the pandemic, Orangeville is the last club to capture the prestigious trophy when they defeated the Victoria Shamrocks in 2019’s tournament.
"We are thrilled to announce the 2022 schedule ahead of the first regular season for the OJLL in two years,” said OJLL Commissioner Mark Grimes. “We know that our players and fans have been looking forward to seeing their teams return to action at home—especially in a year where our teams will compete for a chance to win the Minto Cup on Ontario soil."

The Oakville Buzz, who have been loading up their already promising roster in recent weeks, including picking up Amos Whitcomb from St. Catharines this past Wednesday, will be playing all of their home dates at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre. The TRAC hosted the 2021 OJLL season and is the home of the National Lacrosse League’s Toronto Rock.
The Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League, which includes Junior A teams based in Alberta & Saskatchewan, have also recently released their 2022 regular schedule on their site.
Like the OJLL, the RMLL season will also start on May 11th, the Okotoks Raiders will host the Calgary Mountaineers at the Max Bell Centre (8pm MT).
