NLL Power Rankings: Week 8

Every week during the 2021/22 National Lacrosse League season, The Lax Mag will publish updated NLL Power Rankings reflecting the previous week’s performances, as well as a team’s overall regular season rep, status and success rate.

With only three games on Week 8’s schedule, albeit with very revealing results reflected in the rankings below, this week we’re taking a deeper data dive into all 14 NLL teams’ rosters to determine the most experienced, youngest and protocol problematic so far this season.

Here’s quick rundown of what we tracked for every team (as of January 25th, 5pm ET)…

Players rostered: How many different players have been used on a team’s active roster (plus NLL rank - most to least)

Average age: How old the average active rostered player is for each team (plus NLL rank - oldest to youngest)

Rookies rostered: How many rookies (players making their debut this year and players who played three games or less in previous season) have been used on a team’s active roster

30+ rostered: How many players age 30 and up have been used on a team’s active roster (player who have turned 30 this week or earlier were included)

Protocol: How many players have been placed in COVID-19 protocol (still in protocol or already released) from any (active, practice, etc.) team roster (plus NLL rank - most to least). See the complete list of NLL players in COVID protocol.
