OJLL schedule: Minto-winning Warriors will host Beaches in league's 2023 opener

Earlier this week, the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League revealed their 2023 regular season schedule. The 2022 Minto Cup-winning Whitby Warriors will kick off the 110-game schedule when they host the Toronto Beaches at Iroquois Park Arena on May 16 (7:30pm ET).
The Warriors & Beaches met in last year’s Ontario final with both teams later representing the province at the Minto Cup in Brampton.

During that same opening week, the Oakville Buzz will host the Six Nations Arrows at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre on May 17 (8pm ET), while the Mimico Mountaineers travel to Kinsmen Area to face the Kitchener-Waterloo Lacrosse Club on May 19 (8pm ET).
The Warriors & Beaches will play one another again just two days after their season opener, this time at Scarborough Centennial Arena (May 18, 8pm ET), which will serve as Toronto’s 2023 home floor while Ted Reeve Arena undergoes renovations.
The league’s Burlington-based squad are now known as the Blaze after a recent rebrand. “We are absolutely thrilled with the new Blaze logo, jerseys, and overall rebrand,” said Burlington President Bill Greer. “We have a rich history and tradition of lacrosse in this community, and we hope to continue to grow and develop a love and passion for the game.”
Burlington, who along with Whitby, Toronto and the Orangeville Northmen made up 2022’s OJLL final four, will open their season on May 21 (5pm ET) at Central Arena against KWLC.
The Lax Mag has confirmed that the league will again be live streaming games this summer. A broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date. Like last year, the streams will be made available to fans for free.
It’s anticipated that the country’s other two Junior A leagues, the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League & Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League (Alberta & Saskatchewan), will release their 2023 schedules in coming weeks.
